Dr. Arjuna Marzuki — RFIC & Analog IC Design Expert

Principal RFIC Engineer · RFIC and analog IC design lead at LogikHaus

FIET Chartered Engineer 28+ Years Experience Published Author

Dr. Arjuna Marzuki is an RFIC expert and analog IC design expert with over 28 years of experience in integrated circuit commercialization — from R&D through product release — at organizations including Hewlett-Packard, AMD, Agilent Technologies, and several MNCs and local design houses. His semiconductor process expertise spans CMOS, BiCMOS, BCD, GaAs, and SiGe, applied across systems from 2G–5G wireless, UWB, WiMAX, and NB-IoT, to RoF, satellite, and RFID applications.

He is the author of two published books — Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit: Practical Design (2024) and CMOS Analog and Mixed-Signal Circuit Design: Practices and Innovations (CRC Press, 2020) — and holds three patents spanning low-noise amplifier design, light integration circuits, and LED driver ICs. He currently serves as Associate Professor and Postgraduate Programmes Lead in Electronic Engineering at Wawasan Open University, following 15 years as academic staff at Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Dr. Arjuna holds a PhD in Microelectronic Engineering and a B.Eng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sheffield. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), a Chartered Engineer registered with the UK Engineering Council, a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and an elected member of Sigma Xi, the international scientific research honor society.

Project Highlights

Energy-Quality Scalable Low-Noise Amplifier for MedRadio Applications

Domain: RFIC design, analog IC design · Status: Patent issued, Malaysia (MY-208413-A, 2025)

Medical Device Radiocommunications Service (MedRadio) applications need low-noise amplifiers that can trade off gain against DC power consumption depending on the operating scenario — a fixed-gain design either wastes power or compromises sensitivity. Dr. Arjuna designed an energy-quality scalable LNA architecture, built around complementary common-source current-reuse amplifier stages, that can operate across five distinct gain/power states via a configurable input-matching, inter-stage buffer, and gain-varying stage structure. The design is the subject of an issued Malaysian patent.

Dark Current Cancellation for Color Sensor IC

Domain: Analog and mixed-signal IC design · Status: Patent issued, US8232512B2

Photosensor-based color sensor ICs accumulate a "dark current" — a baseline signal present even without incident light — that skews measurement accuracy if left uncorrected. While leading analog and mixed-signal circuit design at Agilent Technologies, Dr. Arjuna developed a dark current cancellation technique for the company's color sensor IC product line, improving measurement accuracy for consumer appliance applications. The underlying light-integration circuit technique is the subject of an issued US patent.
